episode #8 · with Reagan Leroy
This conversation is one of my favorites ever. I was in Charleston, took Reagan's 6am spin class (truly the best class I've taken from an instructor, and I've spent three years training instructors), grabbed coffee, and then we recorded in her little hotel room.
Reagan Leroy is a fitness instructor and the founder of Rise with Reagan, where she mentors instructors to lead through their faith. It felt like yapping with a best friend you've known forever.
If you feel stuck, not enough, or like God is calling you out of something that doesn't make sense to anyone else, this one's for you.

rooted where your feet are
Reagan's word for this season is rooted. She wants to be interruptible, not rushing to the next thing, so God can move through her day.
When we talked about knowing who you are, she said to ask: who are you, and who does God say you are? Not what social media tells you to be. Not what your friends are doing. And the only way to really know is to spend time with the One who made you.
losing yourself at the dream job
Reagan moved to Charleston and landed what she thought was her dream job at a spin studio. It became one of the heaviest seasons of her life. She worked 5am to 5pm, identified completely with the place, and burned out hard.
What helped first was honesty. She finally told her best friend she felt trapped, and hearing "me too" made everything lighter. Her advice if you feel too stuck to move: just make one move. Sit in church. Tell one person how you feel. The first step is the hardest, and the momentum will come.
not making sense to everyone
Reagan stepped away from fitness for a year in sales, then left her corporate job to go all in on her coaching business. To the outside world, that probably made zero sense. Same for me when I left where I was.
But our job on this earth isn't to please everyone. It's to please the Lord, be obedient to Him, and be okay with not making sense to somebody.
She also opened up about her sober journey. She feels like her best self sober-minded and can hear from God more clearly. Convictions are personal, so zero judgment here, just encouragement if you feel that nudge.
the prayer warrior
The day before we recorded, a young mom at Reagan's new church recognized her from a Charleston Girls Club event years ago. She'd seen sadness in Reagan's eyes back then and had been praying for her ever since, specifically over her worth.
From the outside, Reagan looked like she was living her best life. But God saw the real her. He is always in the details, even in seasons you can't feel Him.

“If you feel like you're in the darkness, you're probably just in the dirt. And that's where the seed is planted.”
try this this week
- Journal: who am I without anything else, and who does God say I am?
- If you feel stuck, make one move. Go to church, or tell one person how you're really doing.
- Find someone a few steps ahead of you to be led by, a mentor or a wise friend.
Whatever season you're in, keep watering the seed. It's probably growing underneath the surface where you can't see it yet. Go follow Reagan at @reaganleroy and @rise.with.reagan. You'll thank me later.
love you, Georgia 🤍
